Camwhoring from Wikipedia
The term "cam whore" is used to refer to individuals who post pictures or videos of themselves on the Internet to gain attention. The term disparages those who post pictures of themselves at inappropriate times or places, and usually implies self-absorption. This second usage of the term, deriding vanity and histrionics, is overtaking the prior, more intuitive definition. It is usually synonymous with attention whore.
Alright people.. are we using the correct term? Camwhoring is just a fun activity that we enjoy doing.. well certain people do.. hmm.. like Me! but then.. the term attention whore doesn't seem to imply on me coz I do it not to gain people's attention... I just wan to update pictures or have a nice picture with close friends as remembrances or just for personal collection.. hmm.. I don't know.. what you guys think?
Camwhoring is to gain attention or it is just a fun and interactive activity? to a certain extend that it gets irritating?

i reassure you, you are not camwhoring. unless you are proned to holding up your camera, take loads of pictures of yourself, and then posting them up on the net. THAT is camwhoring.
well, just make sure you don't use the word "camwhore" anymore. it just doesnt sound right the minute i even look at it.
actually, there's a LOT of photos.. just that they went through a filtering process where only the good ones are chosen to be posted on the net! coz hardly 10% are good shots.. i'm not photogenic! -.-

This would be the part that I would prefer to quote. Personally , i have tendency to accept the third definition. Whore means prostitute or sexually promiscuous is an hardcore insulting term to me. Initially, the combination of cam + whore is just to refers to a news that relates to a story of Justin Berry who accept payment for being molested through the web cam.
However, when the time goes by , the core definition has slowly drifted and generalized especially when digital camera and phone camera have been the trend of today. The increasing demand and interest of self -assuring and self-evaluating comes together with the fun of grabbing fun moments with friends have drastically widened the boundary of "Cam-whoring". Now, it is broadly been used as a hobby and an interesting topic and method to be discuss and discover. At least , I will not be shame to say "I am a cam-whore, So what?!", it's a self-deprecating and yet a reminder of freedom of choice.
In all, sorry to have dragged such a long review but i would just like to say for the anti-cam-whore community and the curious public: "You take it, or leave it ...."!!!

u're not really camwhoring IMO coz while u do take pictures of urself, u didnt show or upload each of them for public viewing. Professional camwhores (like some of my frens frm GD) take loads of pictos of themselves, upload every single picto regardless of their quality, even with the same pose with previous ones. at least u still filter them haha.. way to go to become a pro camwhore dude haha XD
anyway i dun think its for the sake of attention la, its just for fun. =)
whatever happened to the simple days of sharing your pictures, why the term even?
hm... i understand your definition of cam-whoring. It's sweet, ofcourse we have to create some memories with friends right lol. Really no harm what you're doing. :)

when you're looking at a blog content and all you see is this same dude appearing in twenty face/half body/full length shots, in a night's worth of blog update, with no/incoherent textual input, and the photos look like major shite, and the pose is reminiscent of a contortionist with a broken neck, then it is a waste of my time. i try to avoid those like the black plague.
